Metropolitan Beer Trail by Bike

things to do, eat, and know

This ~2.3 mile section of the Metropolitan Branch Trail (MBT) goes through lots of bars and breweries. Take the metro to NoMa and rent a bike from Capital Bikeshare or Lime up to the Brookland metro section to explore DC's beer scene.

A lot of it is close enough to walk. There are a couple long stretches that a bike (or a hop on the metro) might be a good idea, but not necessary.

The spots listed here are the bars included in the official 2026 beer trail. I've added notes for the type of establishment each is, because you might not be looking for just a bar and might want more of a brewery.

Get the official Metropolitan Beer Trail Passport to get discounts at each location.
