Favorite Vegan-Friendly Places in DC (and some in MD & VA that are transit accessible)

You can't go wrong with a Veggie Combo! Try the Fatta Silsi, it's chopped bread that is sauteed with a traditional Eritrean spicy tomato sauce.

Always grab a vegan pupusa and try their jackfruit empanadas!

Their vegetarian paella is incredible! A must-have!

We always go during our anniversary! You can't go wrong with any of their vegan options, but definitely order the chive cake and the vegan crispy rice salad to start.

They're located below DC Vegan and source their vegan meats and cheeses from them. If they don't have any vegan pies out already, they will make some fresh and you can just order however many slices you want, no need to buy a whole pie!

The realest out there! I've order most everything on their menu, but I especially love going certain holidays where they have special items like St. Patrick's Day or DC Pride.

Probably one of the best vegan ramens I have ever had. The broth they use is divine!

Transit accessible location in Old Town Alexandria, their vegan banh mi and pho is amazing!

Always a must when bring family from out of town! They have a whole dedicated vegan menu with a huge variety of Mexican dishes like sopes, quesadillas, and more!

From the same owners as San Pancho, their Mission-Style burritos are so so good. If you go for lunch during the week, you can also order a vegan torta!

They only have one vegan cupcake flavor, the "cookies and cream." However, it is one of the more decadent and rich vegan cupcakes I've ever had!

Aside from their selection of vegan drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), they offer a vegan morning glory muffin and allow you to bring outside food in!

They offer non-dairy milk options as well as a vegan pastry!

Not too many food options, but their drinks are incredible! Both locations are not too far from other vegan friendly places.

The absolute best vegan donut shop (and they have the awards to prove it!) Check their Instagram stories for their daily flavors and if they announce they have sold out for the day.

Various locations around the DMV, they are one of the more affordable grab and go options. They offer a vegan falafel and shawarma option in a pita or bowl.

Similarly, they have their brick and mortar in Gaithersburg, but more of their Farmers Market stands in the DMV are mostly transit accessible.
